Digital Try-On is a Chrome extension that shows you an AI-generated preview of how a garment might look on you, using a reference photo you provide.
This policy describes what the extension does with your data. It is written against the actual behavior of the code.
Kept in Chrome's extension storage, on your computer only:
You can delete cached results at any time with "Clear stored try-ons" in the extension popup, and remove your reference photo with "Remove". Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.
This data is stored unencrypted, as is standard for browser extension storage. Anyone with access to your computer and Chrome profile could read it.
To OpenAI, for each try-on: your reference photo and the garment photo. This is what produces the try-on image, and it is unavoidable — the generation happens on their servers. OpenAI's handling of that data is governed by their own policies.
To our proxy server (api.digital-try-on.workers.dev),
if you are using the free try-ons: the same two images, plus a Google sign-in
token identifying which account the free try-ons count against. The proxy
forwards the images to OpenAI and returns the result. It does not store
the images. They exist in memory for the duration of the request and are
never written anywhere.
If you supply your own OpenAI API key instead, the extension talks to OpenAI directly and the proxy is not involved at all.
What the proxy does store: a count of how many try-ons your account has used, keyed to your Google account identifier, so the free tier can be enforced. That is a number and an opaque id. No photos, no browsing history, no page addresses.
Signing in is optional and used only for free try-ons. We request a stable account identifier and your email address through Chrome's built-in identity system. The identifier is used to count your free try-ons. We do not email you and we do not share it.
If you would rather not sign in, use your own OpenAI API key instead and skip this entirely.
The extension requests access to all websites, because it is designed to work on any clothing retailer rather than a fixed list. It looks at images on the page you are viewing and watches for add-to-cart clicks. It does not read form fields, passwords, payment details, or page content beyond what is needed to find product images.
This extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly process their data.
If this policy changes materially, the date above changes with it.
